Lviv Regional Clinic Perinatal Center was established in 1986.

This is - a highly specialized medical diagnostic, organizational learning and preventive institution. The Center provides high-quality fixed, advisory guidance, diagnostic assistance to the female population of Lviv, Lviv region and other regions of Ukraine.

Perinatal center establishes ties with international centers and agencies that conduct similar activities in Ukraine and other countries.

Chairs

On the basis LSRPC are posted:

- Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology , Faculty of Postgraduate Education Lviv Medical University after Danylo Galicki;

- Department of Neonatology Faculty of Postgraduate Education Lviv Medical University after Danylo Galicki;

- Department of Lviv Scientific Research Institute of Hereditary Pathology.

Maternity unit

Over the past 3 years in perinatal center, on average held about 3500 births a year.

In obstetric-physiological department 90 percent of births are common in mothers and children, the introduction of which improved the course of postnatal period in births, contributes to the incidence in women and infants.
Medical intervention in childbirth is reduced to a minimum.
Since 2001, the office introduced the practice of keeping family labor. Marrieds comes in the office after a preliminary study.

Gynecological unit

Gynecology department №1 of operative gynecology was established to provide highly specialized surgical care to women. Modern endoscopic techniques - laparoscopy and hysteroscopy are used here.
In order to better medical and social rehabilitation of women with genital inflammatory processes, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain syndrome in the postoperative period are widely exploited the physiotherapeutic procedures (microwave, ultrasound, magnetic), hyperbaric oxygen, ultraviolet irradiation of blood (UFOK), hirudotherapy.

Advisory - polyclinic department

To provide outpatient obstetric and gynecological care we have established the consultative polyclinics office, which provides:

- Counseling pregnant women with pathological course of pregnancy;

- Advising patients on issues of reproductive health and family planning.

- Directs for admission to the hospital perinatal center.

Center of lactation support and child development

On the basis of LSRPC from 1998 operates the Center of support of lactation and breastfeeding. In the hospital we have introduced 10 principles of successful breastfeeding. This allowed to gain the international status "Hospital easygoing attitude to the child." The Center has been created and equipped with the assistance of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF). The main activities of the center are: the study of pregnant women with breast-feeding, counseling and provision of psychological support on any problem of breastfeeding to pregnant women and breast-feedings, preparation marrieds to family birth.

У Львові відкрилося «Вікно життя» — спеціальний пункт, де матері можуть анонімно залишити свою новонароджену дитину. Це перша установа такого ґатунку в Україні.

Проект організували місцеві меценати разом із медиками. Його відкрили на вулиці Дж. Вашингтона, 6, у Львівському перинатальному центрі, повідомляє ЗІК.

У безлюдному місці біля пологового будинку встановили вікно, яке відчиняється з вулиці. На спеціальне ліжечко мати може покласти дитину, про що лікарям повідомить світловий і звуковий сигнал.

Біля вікна немає відеокамер, зсередини воно запнуте завісками, і ніхто, якщо прийде мама і відчинить його, не стежитиме за нею або не питатиме особистих даних.

Медики кажуть: підкинувши немовля лікарям, матері зберігають йому життя. Адже з початку року у Львові тричі знаходили малюків на смітниках. Їх народжували безпритульні жінки, а також студентка, яка приховувала вагітність. Якби немовлят підкинули у пологовий будинок, вони б залишилися живі.
